- The TMMP training experience sets itself apart for both its excellent registrar support and its broad clinical caseload. All of the GPs are very approachable, happy to discuss any case or question and make great efforts to protect regular teaching time. The nursing and reception staff also go above and beyond to make patient care seamless, reducing the procedural and administrative burden of general practice immensely. The patient caseload is highly varied with people of all ages and complexities attending the clinic. The unique location of Tamborine Mountain often means that patients would rather receive their treatment 'on the mountain' if possible, with minor trauma care and long-term complex chronic health issue management often being the norm. However, if specialist services or ED transfer are required, these services are not far and can easily be called upon to assist. Overall, the excellent TMMP team and great variety of clinical caseload provides for a truly unique GP training experience which values and supports its registrars. - I undertook my GP 1-2 registrar training at Tamborine Mountain Medical Practice and found it to be an exceptional learning environment. I completed my GPT 1-2 training at Tamborine Mountain Medical Practice and have chosen to continue here for GPT2. The practice provides a highly supportive learning environment, with protected teaching time and valuable weekly one-on-one sessions allowing in-depth discussion of complex cases. Support extends beyond designated supervisors, with all doctors approachable and willing to help.
The semi-rural setting offers excellent exposure to diverse presentations, from complex chronic disease management to urgent care, with strong continuity of care. The supportive nursing and reception teams have also made my experience very positive.
